Case Study - Turnkey Project
Domestic Sewage Treatment Plant
Polypipe Civils Ltd UK contracted ATL to carry out a feasibility study for improving the method of manufacture of their GRP Sewage treatment components which included Tanks, Covers and Internal Baffles etc.
ATL made a comprehensive review of the existing system and recommended that the materials and method of manufacture/assembly were changed to closed mould technology, offering instant improvements in production times, quality, cost, aesthetics and reliability.
Polypipe commissioned ATL to design and manufacture new composite tooling; specify and supply the required plant plus specify, test and source all the materials; then commission the manufacturing plant and train the staff.
Summary - The project gave Polypipe
1 Significant cost savings in materials for an identical size tank.
2 Improvements in Health and Safety with reorganisation of the working environment.
3 Improved production and shorter lead times.
4 Reduced amount of shop floor area required to produce more components. |
